Original questions, not copies
Every question on EduSpark is written by us. We match the EduTest format (five options, the same question types, the same 30-minute limit and the same pace of about 30 seconds a question) but we never copy or reword EduTest’s own items. EduSpark is not connected with EduTest.
EduTest sells its own official practice tests on its website. EduTest says they are untimed, have fewer questions than the actual test, and do not necessarily replicate its degree of difficulty. Ours are full length and timed, so the two do different jobs: official sets show the question styles, and timed papers build the speed the real sections need.
Files labelled as EduTest papers on document-sharing sites are not official samples. We do not use them.

- 4Decide what to practise nextIf the papers help, the full set has 40 papers across three difficulty levels: $149 for all four sections or $59 for one, for 12 months, with a 7-day money-back guarantee.

Who these papers are for
Students in Year 8 sitting EduTest for a Year 9 place at a NSW selective school, or for a Year 9 scholarship at an independent school in NSW or Victoria. The EduTest format is the same in both states. Several NSW selective schools use EduTest for entry in Years 8 to 11:
Our papers are written at Year 8 level. Younger scholarship candidates (Years 4 to 6) sit a test pitched at their own year, so these papers would be too hard for them.
Questions about the free EduTest practice
Are there free EduTest practice tests?
Yes. On EduSpark you can try 5 EduTest-style questions with no account, then sign up free to sit one full timed paper in each of the four multiple-choice sections: Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Mathematics. No card is needed.
Are these official EduTest papers?
No. Every question is written by EduSpark in the same format as the EduTest sections: five options, the same number of questions and the same 30-minute time limit. EduSpark is not connected with EduTest. EduTest sells its own official practice tests on its website.
What level are the free papers?
Year 8, for students sitting for Year 9 entry at a NSW selective school, or a Year 9 scholarship at an independent school in NSW or Victoria. They are not pitched at Year 5 or 6 scholarship candidates. Each free paper is a Standard paper, the first of the difficulty levels.
How is EduTest set out?
EduTest’s selective entry test has five sections: Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Mathematics, each 30 minutes of multiple choice, and Written Expression, 30 minutes plus 5 minutes planning. Our papers cover the four multiple-choice sections; we do not mark writing.
What do I get after a free paper?
The score, the time taken, how the score compares with other students who sat the same paper, a breakdown by question type, and a step-by-step explanation for every question.
What happens after the free papers?
Nothing, unless you choose to buy. The free papers stay free. The full set is a one-time payment for 12 months that does not renew, with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
